2 Day – 1 Night
Enjoy Two Days and One Night of Adventure
Day 1
– In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. We will start with a brief introduction to our beautiful island and its main attractions, then head to the tourist dock “Bellavista Nanay.” On the way, we will stop at the confluence of the Amazon and Nanay rivers, where you can see how the two rivers do not mix completely, creating an effect similar to “coffee with milk.”
– We will begin our journey to the lodge, located an hour downstream on the majestic Amazon River, considered one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. Along the way, you will see various communities and many species of birds feeding along the riverbanks. We will visit a native Yaguas group, where you will learn about their customs, clothing, language, and culture. You will also have the opportunity to use a blowgun (pucuna) and participate in their traditional dances.
– Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be assigned your private cabin and given a tour of the facilities. Then, you will enjoy a typical lunch buffet. In the afternoon, we will explore the Amazon River and enjoy the beautiful landscapes. You will test your skills in artisanal piranha fishing, and with some luck, you will see gray and pink dolphins in their natural habitat. Depending on the weather, you will have the opportunity to swim in the majestic Amazon River and enjoy a picturesque sunset before returning to the lodge.
– After dinner, we will take a night walk to listen to the magical sounds of the jungle and observe nature, including insects, frogs, tarantulas, and snakes.
Day 2
– 5:30 am Departure: We start the day with a walk through the village of Sinchicuy to listen to the birds singing and watch the sunrise.
– Breakfast: Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the lodge.
– Excursion to the Riverside Community: We will visit the “Animal Rescue Center” where you can see many varieties of wildlife like sloths, monkeys, macaws, anacondas, and the prehistoric turtle (matamata) for free. Then, we’ll explore the mill, where exotic drinks made from sugar cane liquor are produced, and learn about a wide variety of natural medicines like sangre de grado and copaiba resin.
– Lunch at the Lodge: After our educational visit, we return to the lodge for a typical lunch made with local products. We offer vegetarian options and special diets, which can be coordinated with prior notice.
– Return to Iquitos: We head back to the city of Iquitos and transfer you to your hotel or the airport. Our guide will coordinate with you to find the most convenient time.
– Arrival in Iquitos: We will arrive back in Iquitos at approximately 5:30 pm.
