4 Days / 3 Nights — Amazon Rainforest, Wildlife & Adventure

 Day 1: Iquitos, Amazon River & Amazon Lodge

Itinerary

• Departure: 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
• Return: Day 4 at approximately 5:00 p.m.

We will begin our adventure with a transfer to Bellavista Nanay, where we will board our boat to navigate the Nanay and Amazon rivers. 

During the journey, we will visit the meeting point of both rivers and appreciate the beautiful contrast between their waters. If conditions are favorable, we will have the chance to observe pink and gray dolphins in their natural habitat (please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed).

We will continue sailing down the Amazon River until we reach Amazon Lodge, located right on the riverbanks, where we will stay during our expedition. Before lunch, you will have time to explore the surroundings of the lodge and enjoy the stunning Amazonian scenery.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Sinchicuy community to learn about their traditional lifestyle and customs.

After dinner, we will head out for our first night walk to look for insects, tree frogs, rodents, and other nocturnal species of the Amazonian wildlife.

Day 2: Amazonian Sunrise & Wildlife Trekking

We will start early to enjoy a breathtaking sunrise over the Amazon, accompanied by the songs of numerous bird species.

After breakfast, we will go on a jungle trek of approximately 3 hours, exploring the rainforest in search of monkeys, squirrels, and other animals in their natural habitat.

After lunch, we will navigate the Amazon River to look for pink and gray dolphins. We will finish the afternoon contemplating a magical Amazonian sunset.

After dinner, we will head out for a second night walk, searching for snakes, frogs, nocturnal birds, and other species active during the night.

Day 3: Jungle Exploration & Yanayacu River

After breakfast, we will continue exploring the rainforest in search of sloths, squirrels, monkeys, and other species of the Amazonian wildlife.

Afterwards, we will navigate the calm waters of the Yanayacu River, where we can spot different bird species and large aquatic plants, such as the impressive Victoria amazonica (giant water lilies).

In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional dinner and a night of Amazonian storytelling, surrounded by the natural sounds of the jungle.

DAY 4: The Giant Lupuna Tree (Ceiba), Piranha Fishing & Return

After breakfast, we will navigate the Amazon River until we reach the Yanayacu River. There, we will make a stop to trek into the forest and walk to the majestic Lupuna (Ceiba pentandra), one of the most iconic and giant trees in the Amazon. During the hike, we will learn about its ecological and cultural importance while discovering the richness of the rainforest.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in the river and try your hand at traditional piranha fishing.

After lunch, we will begin our boat journey back to Iquitos along the Amazon River, taking in the jungle landscapes one last time.

Arrival in Iquitos and end of our Amazonian adventure.
