Itinerary
Bellavista Nanay, Nanay River & Amazon River
The adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel or the airport, followed by a transfer to Bellavista Nanay. There, we will visit the local market, where you can discover traditional Amazonian products and exotic dishes, such as the famous suri grub, among others.From Bellavista Nanay, we will board our boat and navigate the Nanay River until we reach its confluence with the mighty Amazon River. During the journey, we will enjoy the beautiful landscapes while learning about the history, importance, and characteristics of these two rivers.
We will continue sailing down the Amazon River in search of pink and gray dolphins—one of the most unique experiences in the rainforest. With a bit of luck, we will observe them swimming freely in their natural habitat.
Visit to the Yagua Native Community
Next, we will visit a Yagua native community to learn firsthand about their customs, handmade crafts, and traditional dances. You will also learn about their ancient hunting techniques and have the opportunity to test your skills using the cerbatana (traditional blowgun), an authentic tool used by Amazonian hunters.
Yanayacu River: A Natural Paradise
We will navigate the calm waters of the Yanayacu River (widely known as the "Mirror River"), where we can appreciate various species of birds. We will make a stop to trek into the jungle and walk toward the majestic Lupuna (Ceiba pentandra), one of the most iconic and giant trees in the Amazon. During the hike, we will learn about its ecological and cultural significance while discovering the richness of the tropical rainforest.
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing swim in the river and try your hand at traditional piranha fishing.
After lunch, we will begin our boat journey back to the Nanay port. From there, we will provide a transfer back to your hotel or the airport, concluding our unforgettable Amazonian adventure.
